George and Josh are two 6th-grade students selected to represent Linwood School in the STEAMtank State Finals by a panel of Regional Judges from the STEAMtank program. Only 20 teams from the entire state were selected to move onto the finals in the middle school division. Today, the group presented their invention idea, the EEcycle, which works to turn electricity produced through motion from an exercise bike into usable energy for other energy-requiring tasks in the home and commercial businesses. The group presented virtually to the panel of accomplished judges and were interviewed in an intense Q&A session about the inner workings of their invention idea. The group has been developing their invention idea throughout the school year in their Engineering Challenge class.
Results for the Finals competition will be shared by Monday.
