To kick off Mental Health Awareness Week, we want to start by providing a brief introduction to mental health. The following excerpt is from mentalhealth.gov:
“Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.”
Welcome to Mindful Monday! Self-care is important, so please indulge in these activities and join us in learning more about taking care of your mental health.
Below the letters and posters, you will see a Mindfulness Activities document and a Mindfulness Apps document that are both in English and Spanish. These should be sent to the teachers so they can include them in their classrooms and they can be sent out to parents if you think the parents won't see them in the teacher's classrooms. Again, none of the activities have to be completed. We're simply trying to connect with our students and their parents to educate them on Mental Health.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me, any of the Special Education Supervisors, your building UBHC counselor, or the district UBHC Coordinator, Mrs. Tiffany Campbell.
